Teaching or tutoring experience

My commitment to a career in academia has developed over the last six years through my part-time lectureship duties at CPUT in the areas of tourism and events management, research methodology, strategic management and marketing.

My summary

Grounded in humble beginnings I am a professional individual with extensive lecturing and research knowledge and expertise who enjoys being part of, as well as leading, successful and productive teams. I am an academically astute person and experienced in research. I am a strong leader, with the ability to motivate teams to deliver effectively and at the highest levels of performance. Able to demonstrate the motivation and commitment required to achieve objectives and meet deadlines. I also possess excellent interpersonal skills and can communicate concisely at various levels. Academic exposure in research, community engagement, academic administration, teaching and students supervision are the bedrock of my passion and are a key motivation for why I’m currently doubling up as a Part-time lecturer while being fully employed in the corporate sector. Finding a full-time career in academia will, therefore, provide the much sought-after opportunity and platform to be fully engaged in the above-mentioned activities. Notwithstanding, I am currently quite active in the research space, having published research papers in peer-reviewed journals, supervision as Masters’ degree level, participated in both local and international conferences and research activities such as performing peer reviews, moderation and other community engagement projects.

I hold a doctoral (PhD) qualification in Tourism and Hospitality Management from the College of Business and Economics, University of Johannesburg. I also hold a Magister Technologaie (MTech), a Baccalaureus Technologaie (BTech) in Project Management from CPUT and an LLB from the University of Yaoundé II-Soa in Cameroun. My commitment to a career in academia has developed over the last six years through both my part-time lectureship duties at CPUT in the areas of tourism and events management, research methodology, strategic management and marketing etc., and while working towards obtaining both my Masters’ and Doctoral qualifications, a period during which I have developed a passion and commitment for teaching and learning, community service and research excellence. This experience has allowed me to teach and mentor both undergraduate and postgraduate students alike as well as to be involved in some exciting research projects.
